Spread, Vol. 1: No Hope (Spread #1-6) by Justin Jordan, Kyle Strahm (artist)

24935407It's dark, it's gory, it's sickening good. In this new story by the super talented team of Justin Jordan and Kyle Strahm we are introduced to No, Holly, and Hope in a post-apocalyptic world.

When a mysterious and gorily beautiful virus referred to as the spread that kills everything. No is a man immune to the virus with very little to say; when he encounters a baby that turn out to be able to kill the spread with bodily fluids (I did say gory), he's hmm this could work. Later No and the baby that is later referred to as Hope (yeah, she is a special baby) meet Holly a woman that is captured by slavers and a little crazy (tragic backstory hinted at). Obviously the spread wants to kill the baby and what is left of civilization is shit so yeah things get pretty crazy.

The story is told from Hope's point of view, reflecting on the past. This is a definitely must checkout series. I will say that the art alone makes it a must. Plus the characters are really interesting, especially No, who seems to only ever say no, no, no.
