Her Secret Lover by Robin Covington

Like all the What Happens in Vegas stories this one is another love at first sight story.

Kelsey Kyle will do anything to move up in her position as a junior concierge but after meeting Micah Holmes she reconsiders what is important.

Kelsey and Micah had great chemistry and the characters really connect on an emotional level to the point that they don't have the reader complaining.

Find Me (A Candy Hearts Romance) by Cait Jarrod

This is a cutesy romance story where two best friends miss their first chance at love and have to wait 10 years for a second chance.

Cooper Schmidt was in love with his best friend Lyse Haynes, but he was the nerdy-dorky guy and never made a move. When Cooper finally had a chance he pushes her to accept a date with another guy. But come their high school reunion the nerdy guy has become Mr. Gorgeous and he's going to finally get the girl he's always secretly loved.

Along with the cute candy hearts legend of finding your soulmate and likable characters this story was romance fun.

Loving Her Crazy by Kira Archer

This was a fun love at first sight/opposites attract story.

Iris Clayton and Nash Wallace are complete opposites, but throw in some instant attraction and a helpful blizzard and these two find their other half.

The story has everything, a handsome hero and the most illegally-hilarious/romantic grand gesture.

The Storybook Knight by Helen Docherty

There are no words to describe how adorable this book was and how much I loved it.

We have a brave little Knight that would rather read books than fight, but when his parents insist that as a Knight he should go out and slay a dragon he sets off on an adventure. Along the way he encounters various monsters that wish to eat him, but each time he resolves a would be fight with the power of books.

The story is beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written; it has a lovely message for children and is simply a must.

Starve, Volume 1 (Starve) by Brian Wood, Danijel Žeželj (Illustrations)

This was a very interesting apocalyptic alternate timeline story. Just think back in the 70's global warming kicked out arse and the world we know is completely different.

Well in Starve when so many foods are now a luxury very few can afford, the rich entertain themselves with the ridiculousness of a reality cooking show.

Our protagonist, Gavin Cruikshank is a man that walked away from everything but is forced to return for contractual obligations. With his return comes some happy moments and a whole lot of drama.

The story was good, the art was great and the characters were real; they were flawed, broken, idyllic, selfish, vain and all the other things that make a person.

The Sheikh's Stubborn Lover (The Adjalane Sheikhs #2) by Leslie North

Sheikh Adilan Adjalane needs to recover some land his father gave to Michelle Reynolds' mother many years ago.

What starts first as a business transaction quickly turns into love.

Of course what romance doesn't have a little kink or two and in this one, it turns out to be some serious sibling rivalry.

The story was short and entertaining, the drama a little blah, but just enough to keep you reading.

Gotham By Midnight Vol. 1: We Do Not Sleep (Gotham by Midnight #1-6) by Ray Fawkes, Andrea Sorrentino (Illustrator)

This series follows Detective Jim Corrigan aka The Spectre as his team of misfits as they investigate supernatural occurrences in Gotham.

Of course being centered in Gotham we will occasionally see Batman make an appearance or two, but he isn't the hero in these stories.

The art follows a more gruff / noir style but it totally works to reflect the vibe of the story.

Some aspects of the story were a little far fetched because come on, if you have a giant monster and a supernatural being you think Batman and the JLA will not be interfering. That small aspect detracted from the story for me, but it was entertaining.

Red Sonja/Conan: The Blood of a God by Dynamic Forces Inc. (Contributor)

I love reading Red Sonja stories, she kicks-ass and can put any man to shame.

Like all her stories, Sonja is off to fight in a war and she runs into Conan for a team up to bring down some mystical baddie.

The story was entertaining, I would say a little PG-13 but good.

The Tycoon's Forced Bride by Jane Porter

When I read this title I thought "Oh, rich guy forces pretty girl to marry him" kind of story, I could not be more wrong.

The story follows Malcolm McKenzie (aka Colm) who is married to Ava Galvan, only problem is that after a horrible accident she suffers from memory problems and she doesn't remember saying "I do" to Malcolm.

What made the story really sad was that Malcolm and Ava had a son, little Jack and because Ava had a lot of health problem she really couldn't really be with her son.

The story was a really sweet second chance romance and the things Malcolm does to get Ava to fall in love with him again, so sweet.

The only problem with the story for me was that we see very little interaction between Ava and little Jack and a big part of the story was Malcolm trying to bring his wife home and reunite the family.

When We Touch (Whiskey Creek 0.5) by Brenda Novak

Olivia Arnold thought she was going to marry Kyle Houseman until she finds out that in the about 5 months they've been separated while she started her wedding planning business in Sacramento, Kyle decided to fool around with her sister Noelle because he was basically throwing a temper tantrum.

While Olivia is forced to plan a wedding for Kyle and Noelle after Noelle gets pregnant, Brandon Lucero, Kyle's step-brother end up saving Olivia from her emotional crisis.

As Olivia and Brandon spend more time together, Olivia comes to realize that her "One" is not the person she always thought but the one she didn't see coming.

The story was sweet, but I will say there are no words to describe how much I hate Olivia's sister Noelle and her parents; like really Noelle is a major "B" and her parents just constantly turn a blind eye and then pretty much force Olivia to always turn the other cheek.

Brandon I loved, he open and aware of his flaws and what he needs to do to be the hero.

Kyle I hated, he spend his entire time bemoaning how he loves Olivia and getting all jealous when Olivia is anywhere near Brandon. His character was absolutely horrible and got what he deserved, a horrible person to complement him.

Ooh La La (A Candy Hearts Romance) by Doreen Alsen

This was an enjoyable short story about a choreographer Simon West making ends meet by working as a stripper and a well connected, accounting professor Veronica Cook.

The story was fun; you have them meet in the most unconventional of ways and then you see the love grow. Of course with any romance involving a rich / poor dynamic there is always a villain in the form of a disapproving parent, but not to worry love always wins.
