This book just felt so wrong; it makes an attempt at a lighthearted princess story but it just fails miserably. I absolutely refuse to believe that despite the differences between humans and mermaids, that a mermaid Queen would just threaten to sink a boat containing Sofia's family. Furthermore, said Queen orders Sofia to rescue her daughter or else; no, a mother with all that power would turn the ocean inside out to rescue her child.The only redeeming quality in this book was the artwork, that was really nice.
