October Faction Volume 1 (October Faction, #1) by Steve Niles, Damien Worm (Illustrator)

25061099
Think the Addams family in modern times with a lot more ass-kicking action.

The art was good and I was totally digging the dark, haunted vibe of the town.

My absolute favorite scene is where Frederick (the dad) kills his nemesis (temporarily, the bad guys always find a way to resurrect themselves) and his kids are like you killed him and he's like yeah, wanna bury the body like a family?

The family dynamics were just so funny and the art really has you wanting to read more, plus the ending was such a hooker.

Twisted Dark Volume 1 (Twisted Dark #1) by Neil Gibson

16118561An anthology of short illustrated twisted and disturbingly dark tales. Reading this book actually made me think of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (you remember that book, you though was super scary when you were little), except with illustrations to add to the disturbing nature of the short tales.

Some might not like it, but this book was pretty good, what I liked even more is that some of the stories correlate to previous stories. I think the best one was the one with the monitor windows that the creator wanted to use to set everything on fire, oh and the first story with the boy who kills himself and the dad lives in a guilty induced psychosis for the rest of his life.

The Wraith - Welcome To Christmasland #1-7 by Joe Hill (writer), C.P. Wilson III (Illustrator)

Think The Nightmare Before Christmas meets Freddy Krueger and they have a baby called Christmasland with monster that will give you nightmares and a fear of back seats.

This book is so not for the faint of heart, so be warn, don't give it to your children to read, you won't be able to afford the therapy.

The author did a great job with this story it's engaging and captivating and the drawings are wicked good.

I say read and enjoy the nightmare.
